This last year saw many exciting developments, not only to DDD, but across the Impact Sourcing (IS) sector that we helped to pioneer. As someone who follows DDD, you are in the know about Impact Sourcing. Here are our predictions for 2014; it looks to be another exciting year! A structure to scale Impact Sourcing To support scaling of this growing sector, buyers, suppliers and other institutions involved in IS will form a common platform to work on advocacy, knowledge sharing, standard and training. Standardized metrics To help buyers and investors make decisions about IS as a business option, suppliers will work with buyers and others to adopt a common language to take about their impact. Specialized training curricula IS workers and managers Training organizations and IS suppliers will pilot large scale training initiatives, which will be accessible online and even on mobiles. Awareness of Impact Sourcing will continue to increase You will hear more about IS in the mainstream business media in 2014, especially articulating the value proposition of IS service providers More opportunities to engage with the Impact Sourcing in 2014 With these developments and trajectories of growth, look for ways to get involved in an expanded playing field with more buyers of services, more people working with IS providers, more investments in the sector, and additional research and writing about the business and social impact.
